Football Announces Class of 2028

The Lions add 25 to the roster for the 2024 season
NEW YORK — Patricia and Shepard Alexander Head Coach of Football Jon Poppe officially introduced the 2024 Columbia Football incoming class Tuesday afternoon.
"I'm so excited to officially welcome this talented group to Columbia," Poppe said. "They have demonstrated they can compete at a high level while getting it done in the classroom. We can't wait to get them to NYC for training camp in August."
The Columbia Football Class of 2028 consists of eight All-State honorees and one who earned a National High School Championship.
On offense and special teams, the Lions added two quarterbacks, two wide receivers, two tight ends, three offensive linemen, a placekicker and a punter. On the other side of the ball, Columbia added six defensive linemen, four defensive backs and four linebackers.
In addition, the Class of 2028 comprises student-athletes from 14 different states and one from Canada. The Lions added four student-athletes from New Jersey and three more from Texas to lead the pack.

The 2024 season begins Saturday, September 21, against Lafayette at Robert K. Kraft Field at Wien Stadium.
