NEW YORK – For the 11th consecutive season, the Columbia men's tennis program has been recognized as an NCAA Division I All-Academic Team by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA). In addition to the team recognition, 11 men's tennis student-athletes were honored as Division I Scholar-Athletes.
As part of the 2023-24 squad, Alex Kotzen, Henry Ruger, Hugo Hashimoto, Ishaan Ravichander, Jayden Templeman, Max Westphal, Nicolas Kotzen, Sachin Palta, Stanly Shukhman, Theo Winegar and Tristan Lee capped off a historic season by earning the ITA Division I Scholar-Athlete distinction.
To be named an ITA All-Academic Team, programs must maintain a team grade point average of 3.2 or above with all current varsity athletes' marks factored in to the cumulative result. Scholar-athletes must possess a minimum GPA of 3.5 for the academic year.
Within the sport of tennis, student-athletes continue to exceed expectations in the classroom and on the court. In 2024, 1,059 Division I Men's student-athletes were named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, and 176 men's tennis programs were awarded the All-Academic Team distinction.
