Bawa, seeded 17/32 in the men's singles tournament, picked up straight game victories in the opening two rounds. Then, he came from one game behind to beat Rustin Wiser of the United States in the round of 32. The Columbia first-year went on to defeat Argentina's Segundo Portabales to reach the quarter-finals.
