NEW YORK — Five Columbia women's basketball alumni are currently playing in the professional ranks. Those players include
Abbey Hsu '24CC,
Kaitlyn Davis '23CC,
Sienna Durr '23CC,
Hannah Pratt '23CC and
Camille Zimmerman '18CC.
Abbey Hsu '24CC
After being drafted by the Connecticut Sun with the 34th overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft, Hsu will spend her first professional season in Belgium competing for Basket Namur Capitale. Hsu signed a contract with the Belgian Women's Basketball League team in August. The Sun still own Hsu's WNBA rights after Columbia's all-time scoring leader elected not to attend training camp.
Hsu graduated in May with 2,126 career points, the most among any player, men's or women's, in Columbia basketball history. She was also the first Columbia player to eclipse the 2,000-point plateau and the first in Ivy League women's basketball history since Harvard's Hana Peljto in 2004. She ranks third on the Ivy League women's all-time scoring list. Among her many other records, the two-time All-America Honorable Mention and 2023-24 Ivy League Player of the Year ranks first in Ivy League women's history in career 3-pointers (375).
Kaitlyn Davis '23CC
Davis was drafted by the New York Liberty as the 35th overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft. Like Hsu, Davis also elected not to attend training camp with the Liberty, instead opting to play a three-month season with Mexican Liga Nacional team Rojas de Veracruz over the summer. The Liberty still own Davis's WNBA rights. She plans to rejoin the Liberty at the conclusion of the 2024 WNBA season and try out for the 2025 roster.
Davis graduated from Columbia in May of 2023 after a three-year playing career with the Lions. She ranks No. 8 in Columbia women's basketball history with 1,083 career points, as well as No. 7 in career rebounds with 679. She notably recorded the first triple-double in program history on January 28, 2023, going for 19 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists in a home win against Dartmouth. After graduating from Columbia, Davis went on to star for the University of Southern California women's basketball team in 2023-24, starting 24 times for the Trojans to help them reach the Elite Eight of the NCAA Tournament.
Sienna Durr '23CC & Hannah Pratt '23CC
Both Durr and Pratt are playing professional basketball overseas with Sporting Clube de Portugal in Lisbon. Both are entering their first seasons with the team. Durr and Pratt were each four-year members of the Lions from 2018-23, winning the team's first Ivy League Regular Season Championship as seniors in 2022-23.
Durr was the 2018-19 Ivy League Rookie of the Year, as well as that year's Metropolitan Basketball Writers Association (MBWA) Div. I Rookie of the Year. She was the first Lion to win either award. She is one of seven Lions in program history to score 1,000 career points (1,019) and was a two-time All-Ivy League selection. Pratt, who had to sit out her first collegiate season in 2018-19 due to injury, scored 680 career points in three seasons with 419 career rebounds and 123 assists. Pratt played and started all 33 games for the Lions in 2022-23, averaging a career-best 9.8 points and 5.5 rebounds on the way to Columbia's Ivy title and a run to the WNIT Championship Game.
Camille Zimmerman '18CC
More than six years after graduating from Columbia, Zimmerman continues her professional 3x3 and 5x5 careers. The
USA Basketball 3x3 specialist most recently won Gold with Team USA at the 2023 FIBA 3x3 AmeriCup. She continues to be a regular part of USA Basketball's 3x3 events. Zimmerman has played professional 5x5 overseas for various clubs in Spain, Finland, France, Switzerland, Sweden and Israel. She most recently played a full season for Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion in Israeli D1 in 2024. This year, Zimmerman has signed on to play back in France with Feytiat in LF2.
Zimmerman was a four-year standout for the Lions from 2014-18, graduating at the time as the program's all-time leader in scoring (1,973) and rebounding (940). She still ranks No. 2 in career points and remains No. 1 in career rebounds. Zimmerman was the 2016-17 All-Met Div. I Women's College Basketball Player of the Year, averaging 22.5 points per game that season and scoring a then-Columbia single-season record of 608 career points. The following year, as a senior, she was a Top 10 Finalist for the Katrina McClain Award, presented annually to the best women's basketball power forward in the NCAA.
