Canty was tabbed Offensive Player of the Week, and Patterson took Rookie of the Week
PRINCETON, N.J. — Columbia football took home two Ivy League weekly honors after its upset victory over No. 14/18 Lafayette on Saturday. Senior wideout Bryson Canty was named Ivy League Offensive Player of the Week, while first-year defensive lineman Keller Patterson earned Rookie of the Week.
Canty earned the award for the second time in his career and was the last Lion to pick up the honor. The Pfafftown, North Carolina, native caught six passes for 95 yards and two scores to lead the offense. He is now just four yards shy of eclipsing 1,000 for his career.
Patterson made his collegiate debut Saturday and played 32 snaps after filling in for an injured teammate in the second half. His first career tackle was a sack of Lafayette quarterback Dean DeNobile, and he helped the defensive line limit the Leopards to 2.7 yards per rush after halftime in the win. Patterson is the first Columbia student-athlete named Rookie of the Week since Joe Green on November 15, 2021.
The Lions will hit the road to face Georgetown on Saturday, September 28, at 12:30 p.m. on ESPN+ as the teams battle for the Lou Little Trophy.
