NEW YORK — The Columbia women's swimming and diving team returned to the pool for the first time in 2025 on Tuesday evening against Brown. Despite an amazing Senior Night celebration prior to the meet, and some amazing performances from those seniors, it was Brown that emerged victorious with a 194-106 win in the final meet at Uris Natatorium this season.
"We had a lot of great swims coming off an intense training trip and travel on Sunday," Head Coach
Diana Caskey said. "We are excited to race again Thursday in Ithaca!"
Macy Pine was the star of the show, kicking off the meet in style with a record-shattering performance on the 3M boards. In her final time on the 3M diving board at Uris, Pine delivered a new program record with a score of 317.40 which was good for first place. She would follow that up with a second place finish and score of 272.63 on the 1M boards.
"As a coach, we always hope for our athletes to have special moments in their careers," Head Diving Coach
Scott Donie said. "This was a great example of that. I am so proud of Macy and everything she represents for Columbia swimming and diving."
The Lions first swimming win of the day came from
Ashley Hu, who delivered a first place finish in her final 100 breast swim at Uris Natatorium. She touched the wall with a time of 1:03.15.
Senior
Emily MacDonald had one final showcase at Uris, not only winning both sprints but setting two new pool records in the process. First, she won the 50 free with a Uris record time of 22.83. Then, just two events later, she would win the 100 free with a pool-record time of 49.60.
