NEW YORK — Columbia men's swimming & diving, women's swimming & diving and fencing are featured in this week's edition of Lions on the Road. Every week, GoColumbiaLions.com will be using "Lions on the Road" to preview that week's upcoming games and events happening off campus.

WOMEN'S SWIMMING & DIVING
The Columbia women's swimming & diving team will participate in its final dual meet of the regular season this weekend, traveling to New Hampshire to take on Dartmouth on January 25. The Lions are fresh off their first win of the season last week over Cornell, where Emily MacDonald and Ashley Hu set new pool records. MacDonald won three events, including the 100 free where she set a new Cornell pool record with a time of 49.51. She also won the 50 free (22.81) and 200 free (1:49.33). Hu also set a new Cornell pool record, winning the 100 breast with a time of 1:01.38. Hu would also win the 200 breast with a time of 2:15.97. The Big Green are 4-7 so far this season, with a 1-3 record in Ivy competitions. Last time out, Dartmouth lost to Yale by a score of 222-78.

The Columbia men's swimming & diving team has one final non-conference meet this weekend, as the Lions will travel to Maryland to take on Navy on Friday. The meet will begin at noon. Columbia is coming off a road loss to Cornell on Saturday, by a score of 178-121. Joseph Nicol has an excellent day to lead the divers. First, he won the 3m boards with a score of 355.35. Then, he would go on to win the 1m boards as well with a score of 318.90. Zach Vasser got things started with a bang, winning the first individual swimming event of the day. He touched the wall first in the 1000 free, clocking in at 9:07.99. Demirkan Demir won the 100 breast with a time of 53.20. The Midshipmen are 10-4 this season, coming into Thursday's contest off a 246-107 loss to Princeton.

Fencing comes into the weekend riding high after wins over No. 1 Harvard at the St. John's Super Cup last weekend. The Lions went a combined 6-2 on the day, with the only blemishes coming against No. 2 Notre Dame. The women are now 16-1 in dual matches, and the men move to 14-2, with both defeats coming by one bout. Action starts 9:45 a.m. in University Park, where the NCAA Championships will take place in late March.
