NEW YORK — Columbia tennis, cross country, field hockey and men's soccer are featured in this week's edition of Lions on the Road.
Every week, GoColumbiaLions.com will be using "Lions on the Road" to preview that week's upcoming games and events happening off campus.
Women's Tennis
All nine members of the Columbia women's tennis team will compete at the ITA Regional Tournament this weekend in Philadelphia.
Malak El Allami,
Amber Yin,
Emily Baek,
Gayathri Krishnan,
Michelle Li, and
Sophia Wang will compete in the main draw.
Salma Farhat,
Margaret Hui, and
Sabrina Lin will compete in qualifying singles with a chance to advance to the main draw. Four doubles teams will also be competing, highlighted by the duo of El Allami and Yin, who went 4-0 as doubles pairs last time out at the Columbia Quad. Action begins on Thursday and concludes on Tuesday, October 14.

Cross Country
Columbia is set to race in the Mets Cross Country Championships, hosted by NJIT this Saturday in Branch Brook, New Jersey. Wrapping up a successful weekend in Kentucky at the Louisville Cross Country Classic, the Lions placed fifth in both women's 5k and men's 8k. Senior
Rory Clare registered her second straight top-10 finish, crossing the line at 16:57.5. Senior
Edward Blaha led the men's squad, clocking a season best 23:59.8. They will look to continue that momentum into this weekend.

Field Hockey
The Lions (5-4, 1-2) visit No. 13 Monmouth after they host Yale on Friday at 3 p.m. for Breast Cancer Awareness Day. A full weekend preview will be available on GoColumbiaLions.com later this week.

Men's Soccer
Following a home game on Saturday against Dartmouth, Columbia's men's soccer team makes a short trip upstate to take on Army West Point (3-4-4). The two teams will face off for the first time since 2019, and this will be Columbia's first time visiting Army since 2018. Both of those matchups resulted in 1-1 draws.
