Field Hockey Earns 4-2 Win Over Sacred Heart on Senior Day

Kaczor scores twice; Adams and Campolattaro add a goal

NEW YORK — Columbia field hockey defeated Sacred Heart, 4-2, on Senior Day Sunday afternoon at the Columbia Field Hockey Complex.

The Lions (7-7, 1-5) received two goals from Izzy Kaczor and a goal each from Lizzie Adams and Nicole Campolattaro. Columbia's four goals match a season-high, tying last Sunday vs. Wagner. Goalkeeper Margot Houle made all three of her saves in the fourth quarter.

After a scoreless first period, Sacred Heart broke the ice with a goal 3:44 into the second quarter. Columbia rallied with four straight goals.

Kaczor netted the Lions' first goal with 6:30 until halftime. As time expired into the break, Adams scored off a penalty corner. Jacinta Solari Etcheberry had the assist and the Lions led 2-1 at the half.

Columbia's third quarter goal came from Campolattaro off an assist from Delfina Gonzalez Lobo with 8:30 left in the period. Kaczor closed out the Lions' scoring with her second of the day 1:13 into the final quarter.

Sacred Heart (6-11, 4-4) scored a penalty stroke later on but was unable to get any closer. The Pioneers registered eight shots (five on goal) to Columbia's 15 (13 on goal).

Columbia plays at No. 5 Princeton next Saturday at 12 p.m.
