Ashley Kim’s Game-Winning Goal Guides Field Hockey Past Dartmouth, 2-1

Lions get two fourth-quarter goals from Gonzalez Lobo and A. Kim

HANOVER, N.H. — Ashley Kim netted the game-winning goal with 1:01 left in the match as Columbia field hockey earned a 2-1 come-from-behind victory over Dartmouth at Chase Field on Friday afternoon.

The Lions (4-4, 1-2) trailed 1-0 until Delfina Gonzalez Lobo put home a rebound off a corner with 5:26 remaining to tie the game. Jacinta Solari Etcheberry recorded an assist.

With 1:01 to play, Ashley Kim took a Dartmouth turnover and found the back of the cage to put Columbia in front. It was her second game-winning goal of the season.

Columbia goalkeeper Margot Houle made nine saves in the win. The sophomore was clutch down the stretch, recording four saves in the final 15 minutes. The Lions registered five shots on goal compared to Dartmouth's 10 on Friday.

Dartmouth (2-6, 0-3) got on the board first in the second quarter with a tip-in off a penalty corner with less than four minutes until halftime.

The Lions host Hofstra on Sunday at 1 p.m. for Alumni Day.
