Walters rushed for a career-high 123 yards and broke the Lions’ first-year rushing record against Brown
PRINCETON, N.J. — Columbia football first-year running back Michael Walters was tabbed Ivy League Rookie of the Week on Monday. He becomes the first Lion to earn a conference weekly award this season.
The Brookfield, Connecticut, native racked up a career-high 123 yards rushing and added a touchdown on 27 carries. Walters also broke Columbia's rookie rushing record and is up to 476 yards on the season, which ranks sixth in the Ivy League. His 68.0 yards per game puts him No. 5 among NCAA FCS first-years.
The Lions will wrap up the 2025 campaign next Saturday, November 22, when they head to Cornell for the Empire State Bowl. Kickoff is slated for 1 p.m. on ESPN+.
