The Lions take on Big Ten foe in the 2025-26 home opener
NEW YORK – Columbia wrestling makes its 2025-26 home debut on Friday when the Lions host No. 11 Michigan at 6 p.m. at Levien Gymnasium.

Thursday's dual match will be streamed live on ESPN+, and live results will be available through TrackWrestling.
ACCESSING UNIVERSITY GYMNASIUM
For Friday's dual match, spectators without a valid Columbia University ID or registered QR code will need to enter campus through the Northwest Science Building at W. 120th & Broadway. Spectators will be able to enter through the NoCo Building lobby doors and then proceed to the University Gymnasium. After the event, spectators should exit the Dodge Fitness Center by retracing their route through the Northwest Science Building to W. 120th Street.
LAST TIME OUT
Last week, the Lions went 1-1 in dual meets, falling narrowly to Indiana on the road before coming back to soundly defeat Hofstra in Hempstead, N.Y. Columbia opened the week at Edgewood High School, where the Hoosies defeated the Lions 22-19. Lorenzo Frezza recorded an upset win, defeating No. 27 Henry Porter in an 11-2 major decision. Two days later, Columbia took down Hofstra 32-6, winning eight of the 10 bouts.

Ayzerov (No. 16), Wehmeyer (No. 25), Freeza (No. 28), and Fine (No. 32) are all ranked in FloWrestling's top-30. Ayzeror (No. 17), Frezza (No. 26), and Fine (No. 29) are ranked in Intermat. Ayzerov is also ranked No. 16 in Open Mat's top-20 rankings.

Michigan enters Friday's match ranked No. 11 in the nation according to FloWrestling. The Wolverines are 2-2 in dual matches this season, with wins over VMI and Arizona State. Last time out, they fell to No. 2 Nebraska and No. 16 Missouri at the National Duels Invitational. Michigan has nine wrestlers ranked, including six in the top-15.
SERIES HISTORY
Friday will be the sixth time the Lions have taken on the Wolverines. All-time, Michigan leads the series 5-0, dating back to the 2008 season. Last time out, Columbia fell to #9 Michigan 28-9 in Ann Arbor. In that match, Fedalen and Fine secured victories for the Lions.
