Volleyball Hosts Princeton and Penn in Final Homestand

Lions will pay tribute to seniors on Saturday
NEW YORK - Columbia volleyball welcomes Princeton and Penn for its final homestand of the 2025 season. The Lions face the Tigers on Friday at 7 p.m. Saturday will be senior day, with Columbia honoring six graduating seniors in a special pregame ceremony. The match against the Quakers is set for a 6 p.m. first serve.
Both matches will offer live stats, and fans can stream the action on ESPN+. Perri Kitei will deliver play-by-play courtside.
All fans planning to attend any of the matches will need to use the entrance to Levien Gymnasium located on 120th Street.
INITIATIVES
Saturday will be Senior Night at Levien Gym. Columbia will honor its six seniors —Eva Atkins, Amanda Holsen, Presley Liberty, Ruby van der Heide, Hanna Vorhies, and Juliana Williamson — in a special pregame ceremony prior to the match.
LAST TIME OUT
Last weekend, the Lions wrapped up a five-match road trip, falling to Harvard and Dartmouth in straight sets.
SCOUTING PRINCETON
Princeton enters Friday's match with a 12-6 overall record and is 7-3 in Ivy League play, which currently has them in second in the conference standings. Last time out, they beat Brown on the road in four sets and have now won seven of their last ten matches.
As a team, they are hitting .277, which is tops in the conference. Their opponents are hitting .222. Leading the team in kills is senior Valerie Nutakor with 201. Her 3.24 kills per set is fifth in the Ivy League.
SCOUTING PENN
The Quakers enter this 10-10 overall and are 4-6 in conference play. They take on Cornell on Friday night before making the trip to Levien Gym on Saturday. Last time out, they defeated Yale in five sets and have won three of their last five matches.
Penn is hitting .235 as a team and averaging 13.8 kills per set. Their opponents are hitting .217 as a team and averaging 12.7 kills per frame. Leading the team in kills is junior Zada Sanger, who has 231 on the year and is averaging 3.30 kills per set.

MILESTON WATCH
With four matches to play in 2025, a few Lions are coming up on some notable numbers. Senior Eva Atkins is nine kills shy of a new career-high. She enters this week with 169 kills—her current career-high is 178, set in 2024. Amanda Holsen is five kills shy of 250 kills for her career; fellow senior Julianna Williamson is four kills shy of 200 for her career. First-year outside hitter Elena Maynulet is six kills from 200 in a season.
COMING UP ACES
The Lions are tops in the conference and 39th in the nation (out of 343 teams ranked) in service aces per set. Columbia is averaging 1.79 aces per frame. The Lions' 129 total aces are second in the Ivy League. Columbia has six athletes in double figures in aces, led by Delaney Seaman's team-high 24. She is one ace from 70 for her career and 13 shy of cracking Columbia's top-five all-time for career aces.
ON DECK
Columbia wraps up the 2025 campaign with a pair of road contests. On Friday, the Lions travel to Providence, R.I., to take on Brown. That match is scheduled for a 6 p.m. first serve. On Saturday, Columbia makes the trip to New Haven, Conn., to take on Yale in the season finale. That match is scheduled to begin at 6 p.m.
