Swimming & Diving and Wrestling, featured in this week's edition

NEW YORK — Columbia swimming & diving and wrestling are featured in this week's edition of Lions on the Road. Every week, GoColumbiaLions.com will be using "Lions on the Road" to preview that week's upcoming games and events happening off campus.

Women's Swimming & Diving

Columbia will participate in Princeton's Big Al Invite this weekend which will begin on Thursday, December 4 and run through Saturday, December 6. The Lions matchup against the Tigers will also be scored across the three days, and count on both team's Ivy League schedule. Prelims will begin each day at 10 a.m. and finals will take place at 6 p.m. A full schedule of events can be found on Princeton's website, HERE. The team's competing alongside the Lions and Tigers will be Penn, Utah (diving only), and Cornell (diving only).

Men's Swimming and Diving

Columbia will participate in Princeton's Big Al Invite this weekend which will begin on Thursday, December 4 and run through Saturday, December 6. Wrestling

Nine members of the Columbia wrestling squad will travel to Las Vegas this weekend to compete at the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invite starting Friday. The two-day event will feature some of the nation's top wrestlers and teams. Competing for the Lions will be Sulayman Bah (125), Evin Gursoy (131), Lorenzo Frezza (141), Richard Fedalen (149), Cesar Alvan (165), Nick Fine (174), Aaron Ayzerov (184), Adam Haselius (197) and Vincent Mueller (285). The Lions currently have five wrestlers ranked in the FloWrestling rankings. Ayzerov checks in at #15 at 184, Frezza is ranked #25 at 141, Jack Wehmeyer is #26 at 197, followed by Alvan at #31 at 165, and Fine is #32 at 174. Last time out, the Lions had a strong showing at the Black Knight Invite; in that meet, three wrestlers achieved milestone victories. Alvan won his 60th career bout, and Ayzerov and Fine both notched their 50th career wins. Both days of the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invite will be streamed through FloWrestling.
