SYRACUSE, N.Y. – The Columbia women's tennis team fell in a road contest against Syracuse by a score of 6-1 on Sunday at the Drumlins Country Club.
Columbia moves to 5-4 overall this season. The Lions have a week to recover and will be in action at the Milstein Family Tennis Center on February 28 against Memphis.
Syracuse posted wins in the one and two doubles spots to start the match Sunday, allowing the Orange to secure a pivotal doubles point. Syracuse proceeded to claim wins in the one, two, four, five, and six singles matches to secure the 6-1 victory over Columbia.
Gayathri Krishnan earned Columbia's lone singles win of the day with an impressive 6-4, 6-2 performance in the No. 3 spot.
