ITHICA, N.Y. — The Columbia indoor track and field team has wrapped up day one of the 2025 Ivy League Heptagonal Indoor Track & Field Championships, hosted this year by Cornell University.
Securing points for the Lions was
Elia Ton-That in the women's 300m. Ton-That finished fifth with a time of 9:30.32. Also scoring points for Columbia on Saturday was
Obiora Okeke, who captured fourth in the weight throw with a mark of 20.04.
Matt Gatune and
Ben Bergey both advanced to the finals in the men's mile. Gatune finished fourth with a time of 4:10.30, while Bergey captured ninth with a time of 4:11.34. On the women's side,
Rory Clare finished second overall to advance to Sunday's finals, finishing the prelims with a time of 4:48.17.
Josie Rempe advanced to Sunday's finals in the women's 60m after finishing seventh overall in the prelims with a time of 7.56.
Haydn Brotschi won the opening heat of the men's 400m and finished fourth overall with a time of 48.25 to advance to tomorrow's finals.
Kylie Castillo advances to the finals in the women's 400m after taking seventh overall with a time of 56.58.
Sydney Goldson finished seventh with a time of 1:16.35 to advance to the finals in the women's 500m.
Ryan Borden and
Tyler Tubman advanced to Sunday's finals in the men's 100m after finishing seventh and eighth, respectively. Lucy Kenkel advanced to the finals of the women's 1000m after finishing fifth in today's prelims.
As a team, the women currently reside in sixth place with two points and the men sit in seventh with four points. Princeton is in first for the women's side after day one; Cornell paces the men's standings.

UP NEXT
Ivy League Heps resumes tomorrow with the second and final day of competition. The first event will be the men's 60m hurdles at 11:30 a.m.
After the conclusion of Indoor Heps, the Lions will look ahead to the NCAA Indoor Championships which will be held from March 14-15 in Virginia Beach, Va.
