
Men’s, Women’s Squash Earns Wins Saturday at CSA National Team Championships

Men’s squash moves on to face No. 6 Harvard on Sunday
PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The Columbia men's and women's squash teams were both victorious Saturday on the third day of action at the CSA National Team Championships. Men's squash pulled an upset against No. 5 Virginia, while the women battled past No. 9 Drexel to finish the weekend.
MEN'S RECAP
No. 8 Columbia put on an impressive performance Saturday to upset fifth-ranked Virginia, 5-4. The Lions now advance to face No. 6 Harvard on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. in the final contest of the weekend. Yusuf Sheikh, Imad Athar, Zach Nam, Tommy Soltanian and Adam Goad posted individual wins to help Columbia earn the team victory. A solid start in the early flights allowed the Lions to hold on and secure a 5-4 victory.

The 10th-ranked Columbia women's squash squad battled to defeat No. 9 Drexel, 5-4 in a thriller Saturday. With the win, Columbia leaves Philadelphia with a ninth-place team finish at the CSA Championships. Simmi Chan, Amal Izhar, Andreea Ghiorghisor, Eugenia Li and Advita Sharma posted individual victories to lead the Lions to a win in the final contest of the season. Ghiorghisor, Li and Sharma all navigated through five games to secure critical victories Saturday.
