(1) Columbia faces (4) Penn in the semifinals on Friday
NEW YORK – Seedings and matchups for the 2025 Ivy League Women's Basketball Tournament were finalized Sunday morning. Columbia (22-5, 13-1) won the outright regular season title to earn the No. 1 seed and will face fourth-seeded Penn (15-12, 6-8) in the semifinals on Friday at 4:30 p.m. ET.
The 2025 Ivy League Basketball Tournaments, presented by TIAA, are being hosted by Brown at the Pizzitola Sports Center in Providence, Rhode Island. The women's tournament runs Friday-Saturday, March 14-15. Tournament and ticketing information is available at IvyMadness.com.
Columbia wrapped up the outright Ivy League regular season title on Saturday with a dominant, 91-58, victory over Cornell. The Lions matched their program record of 13 league wins, which they set last season.
Penn and Brown tied for fourth in the Ivy League standings. The tiebreak for the tournament's final berth came down to the NCAA NET Rankings that were posted Sunday morning. Penn edged out the Bears with a NET of 162, compared to Brown's ranking of 184.
Columbia will be making its fourth consecutive postseason appearance. Last year, the Lions earned an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament, their first March Madness selection in program history.
The Lions swept this year's regular season series against the Quakers, earning a 15-point win in Philadelphia and a 25-point win in New York. This will mark the first-ever postseason meeting between the schools.
The winner of each semifinal will advance to the Ivy League Tournament Championship, which will take place Saturday, March 15, at 5:30 p.m. ET. The championship game will be televised nationally on ESPNU. The semifinals will be available on ESPN+.
