Lions take on Quakers in final home contest, take on Princeton on Sunday
NEW YORK – The tenth-ranked Columbia men's tennis team plays a split home and away contests this weekend. The Lions play their final contest of the 2024-25 season at the Philip and Cheryl Milstein Family Tennis Center on Friday when they take on Penn. On Sunday, Columbia heads to Princeton for a matchup of the top two teams in the Ivy League standings.

LIONS IN THE ITA RANKINGS
Columbia (13-4, 3-0 Ivy) continues to be represented well in the most recent ITA singles and doubles rankings released this week. Three Lions are ranked in singles, while two doubles pairs earned rankings.
Michael Zheng continues to sit at the top of the ITA Division I singles rankings, while teammates Nicolas Kotzen fell to No. 53 this week, Hugo Hashimoto moves up two spots to No. 74.
The duo of Zheng and Hashimoto earned the highest doubles ranking for the Lions at No. 30. Zheng and Kotzen came in at No. 42.

Columbia improved to 3-0 in Ivy League play with back-to-back sweeps over visiting Brown and Yale last weekend. On Sunday, the Lions showed no signs of fatigue defeating the No. 50 ranked Bulldogs, defeating Yale 4-0.
Columbia secured the doubles point thanks to strong showings from the duo of Max Westphal and Sachin Palta who defeated Krish Gupta and Dylan Tsoi 6-1 in the No. 2 spot. On the No. 1 court, Michael Zheng and Nicolas Kotzen secured the doubles point with a 6-2 victory over Jason Shuler/Jim Ji.
In the singles match, Thanaphat Boosarawongse secured the first point for the Lions, defeating Dylan Tsoi 6-4, 6-0 at the No. 6 spot. Kotzen moved the Lions one point closer to victory with an efficient straight sets win over Edward Liao, winning 6-3, 6-2. Hugo Hashimoto secured the match with a straight sets win over Eric Li, winning 6-4, 6-4.
