SPRINGFIELD, Pa. — Columbia first-year Grant Lester tied for second and senior Wyatt McGovern tied for fourth at the 2025 Ivy League Men's Golf Championship. Sunday's final round at Rolling Green Golf Club was suspended and ultimately canceled due to unplayable course conditions from high winds. Scores from the first two rounds were deemed official.
 
With their top-five finishes, Lester and McGovern were each named to the All-Championship Team. Lester completed the tournament at 2-under-par 138 with consecutive rounds of 1-under-par 69 on Friday and Saturday. McGovern, competing in his final collegiate event, was 1-under-par for the tournament, carding rounds of 69 on Friday and 70 on Saturday.
 
"Grant and Wyatt have been leading us all year and they clearly stepped up in a very big moment," Columbia's Director of Golf Rich Mueller said. "They were on a trajectory to certainly make the end of the tournament very interesting. We'll never get to know that outcome but I'm extremely proud of the way they handled themselves and the way they played."
 
Columbia earned second place as a team at 16-over-par for the tournament. They improved by eight shots from Friday's first round with a 4-over-par 284 in Saturday's second round.
 
"Our team made great decisions all week," Mueller added. "They were super patient, cheered each other on and worked together in team meetings to come up with the absolute best strategy. They put us in a place where we were in the final pairings on Sunday with a shot to win. There were still 12 holes to play and stranger things have happened. I'm proud of our efforts over the last few days. I thought the guy did an amazing job and I'm really proud of our year."
 
Columbia finished top five in eight of its 11 tournaments during the 2024-25 campaign, which included a victory at the Columbia Autumn Invitational at Lake Placid Club (Sept. 28-29).
 
Princeton took home the 2025 Ivy League Men's Golf Championship with a 36-hole score of 1-under-par 559. Riccardo Fantinelli (-4) won the individual title.
