The seven selections are tied for the second most in program history
NEW YORK – Sarah Mikami and Cami Neal earned First Team All-Ivy League honors, highlighting Columbia's seven All-Ivy selections as announced by the conference office on Wednesday afternoon.
Payton Shimansky and Maddie Souza earned Second Team All-Ivy honors, while Jordan Hill, Juju O'Brien, and Eleni Katsivalis earned Honorable Mention All-Ivy accolades. The seven All-Ivy selections are tied for the second most in program history, topped only by the eight selections in 2018.
"I could not be prouder of the players representing Columbia," head coach Jennifer Teague said. "Their hard work, dedication, and leadership on and off the field have been instrumental to our success. We are fortunate to have such an outstanding group of players, as a whole, and these honors are a reflection of the entire team's effort. Iron sharpens iron, and today we celebrate them together."
Mikami was a unanimous first team selection for the second consecutive season. The Lions' first baseman is hitting .400 for the year with a .664 slugging percentage and a .480 on base percentage. In Ivy League play, she is hitting .413 and boasts a flawless fielding percentage with 151 putouts and seven assists.
This is the fourth time Neal has earned all-conference honors. She garnered first honors in 2024, second team honors in 2023, and honorable mention accolades in 2022 as a first-year player. Neal is hitting .405 this season, which will set the Columbia single season record. She leads the team with 32 RBI and has accumulated 15 multi-hit games and eight multiple RBI games.
Sophomore Payton Shimansky earns all-conference honors for the first time in her career. She has had a breakout campaign, hitting .389 in conference play, with a .667 slugging percentage and a .453 on base percentage. Of her 25 hits in conference play, 12 have gone for extra base hits.
This marks the second time Souza has taken home all-conference honors. Last season, she was named to the 2024 Honorable Mention Team. This year, the everyday center fielder is hitting .287 with a .505 slugging percentage and a .395 on-base percentage. Souza has scored 24 runs and driven in 25 on the year. In Ivy League play, she scored 13 runs and drove in 11.
Jordan Hill captures all-conference honors for the second time in her brilliant career. Hill earned honorable mention honors in 2022. This season, she is 10-7 with a 4.17 ERA. She has been even better in Ivy League play, going 8-3 with a 3.93 ERA. Her eight wins in conference play are tied for the second most in the Ivy League. Over the season's final month, she has gone 7-2 with a 2.55 ERA.
O'Brien wrapped her stellar freshman campaign, earning Ivy League Rookie of the Week honors for the second time earlier this week. She finished the regular season with 10 multi-hit games and boasted a slash line of .306/.398/.382 for the year. In conference play, she hit over .400 with runners in scoring position.
This is Katsivalis' first all-conference honor. The utility player is hitting .330 for the year. As an outfielder, she hit .311 (19-for-51), and as a designated player, she hit .341 (14-for-41). The table setter hit .542 when leading off an inning for the Lions in conference play this season.
