2025 championships to be held in September in Gwangju, South Korea
CHULA VISTA, Calif. — Columbia University archery rising senior Sydney Sullenberger will represent the USA later this year at the 2025 World Archery Championships. The World Championships will be held in September in Gwangju, South Korea.
The final stage of trials across recurve and compound produced the names that will represent the USA later this year. Sullenberger got through trials for the Compound Women's Team, alongside Olivia Dean and Alexis Ruiz.
"As always, impressed but not surprised," Columbia archery head coach Derek Davis said. "Sydney has worked so hard for this and fully deserves it. I can't wait to see her represent the USA…. again!"
In qualifying for this year's World Championships, Sullenberger has also qualified for the 2025 Archery World Cup, which will be held July 5-13 in Madrid, Spain. Her score of 701 at U.S. trials tied the national collegiate record that she also previously held.
Sullenberger has previous experience with USA Archery on the world stage. In 2023, in Limerick, Ireland, she claimed gold at World Youth Archery Championships (WYAC). That same summer, she also won the National Championship at USA Archery JOAD Target Nationals. The following December, Sullenberger was named to the United States Archery Team (USAT) as one of five in the women's compound U21 division.
