Football Introduces 2025 Incoming Class

The Lions will add 28 new members to the squad this fall

NEW YORK — Patricia and Shepard Alexander Head Coach of Football Jon Poppe officially introduced the 2025 Columbia Football incoming class Tuesday afternoon.

"Our program and the Columbia family welcome these 28 student-athletes and their families with great excitement," said Poppe. "This group of talented young people share a common mindset of competitive fire on and off the field that will continue the build of Columbia Football. We look forward to this class assisting our F.I.G.H.T. as we venture into a new era of Columbia and Ivy League football."

The Columbia Football Class of 2029 consists of 28 student-athletes and features nine all-state honorees.

On offense, the Lions bulked up with seven offensive linemen and also added a quarterback, two running backs, one tight end and five wide receivers. Columbia will also welcome 11 newcomers on defense, featuring four defensive backs, five defensive linemen and two linebackers. Additionally, one long snapper will join the special teams unit.

The incoming class hails from 15 different states and one international student-athlete from the Bahamas. The Lions have seven Texans, four Californians, three Floridians and a pair from New York
