NEW YORK – Columbia University women's basketball graduate
Cecelia Collins '25CC has been selected to represent Team USA in 3x3 competition at the World University Games in Bochum, Germany, later this month.
Collins and the USA women's team will report to Cincinnati, Ohio, on July 12 for a training camp before traveling to Germany on July 15. The teams will participate in the Opening Ceremonies on July 16 before 3x3 games begin on July 17. Teams will play in "pool play" before the top teams from each pool advance into the tournament. Like the Olympics, FIBA rules will apply.
Joining Collins on the USA team are Jaclyn Grisdale (Quinnipiac), Lee Volker (Marquette) and Talya Brugler (Saint Joseph's). The team will be coached by Maria Napolitano.
Collins was a two-year member of the Columbia women's basketball program. After transferring in from Bucknell in 2023, she helped the Lions win two Ivy League Regular Season Championships, including an outright title this past season. Collins also helped lead the Lions to back-to-back NCAA Tournaments, including their first March Madness win in program history,
defeating Washington, 63-60, on March 20, 2025.
In her two seasons in Morningside Heights, Collins played and started 60 games, scoring 822 points with 299 rebounds, 255 assists and 52 steals. She was a 48.9 percent shooter from the field in her Columbia career, hitting at 34.6 percent from 3-point range and 81.2 percent from the foul line.
