NEW YORK — Columbia rowing alumni Charlotte Buck '18CC, Alexander Hedge '19CC, and Sam Melvin '19CC were selected to the 2025 World Rowing Championships Roster by USRowing.
The 2025 World Rowing Championships will take place Sept. 21-28 in Shanghai, China. Buck will compete in the women's eight, Hedge will race in the men's four, and Melvin will race in the double sculls. Buck (women's eight) and Hedge (alternate) also represented Team USA at the 2024 Olympics in Paris.
Buck was a First Team All-Ivy League selection in 2018, two-time First Team All-Region selection by the Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (2017 and 2018), and was selected to the Pocock Second Team All-America squad during her Columbia career. The Nyack, N.Y. native is a two-time Olympian.
Hedge rowed at the stroke positions for the Varsity Eight in the EARC Sprints and IRA National Championships his senior year at Columbia. The Morristown, N.J. native rowed with the Varsity Eight for three years and was a member of the 2016 IRA All-Academic Team.
In 2019, Melvin was the USRowing U23 Male Athlete of the Year and won the U23 World Rowing Championship in single sculls.
