LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Columbia women's soccer took on Loyola Marymount Univsersity on Sunday evening in its final game of a brief two-game California trip. The Lions of California emerged victorious, taking down the Lions of New York City 2-1.
The Lions struck first and quickly, as im the 6th minute Krystal Medina put the Lions ahead with the first goal of her young career.
LMU responded with a strong second half, as Callan Harrington tied the match in the 55th minute before Taylor Person scored the game-winner in the 68th to give the hosts the victory.
Goalkeeper Cameron Lane kept Columbia in the contest with seven saves against 11 shots on target in her first career start. Defender Justina Bitzer anchored the back line by playing all 90 minutes. Columbia moved to 0-4-0 on the year while LMU improved to 2-1-0.

Columbia returns to NYC and will take on St. John's in Queens on September 4 at 7 p.m.
