NEW YORK – The Columbia women's tennis team played its final fall home contest over the weekend, hosting the Columbia Quad. The Lions won 25 of their 29 matches, including a 12-1 mark in doubles play. 

Malak El Allami and Amber Yin combined to go 4-0 as playing partners over the weekend. They opened the tournament with a comfortable 6-1 win over App State's Sreenidhi Balaji and Alexi Cleveland. Later that afternoon, they defeated the Mountaineers' twosome of Balaji and Taya Powell, 6-0. The highlight of the weekend for the El Allami and Yin was their 7-5 win over Princeton's Tsehay Driscoll and Pearl Zhang. A match that set the tone as the Lions won five matches against the Ivy League foes. 

Gayathri Krishnan looked sharp, going 3-0 in singles play. The reigning Ivy League Player of the Year did not lose a set and convincingly won her final two matches. The highlight of the weekend was her straight-sets win over Princeton's Tsehay Driscol, 6-1, 6-4.

Sabrina Lin, Emily Baek, and Salma Farhat all had perfect weekends in singles play, with the trio all going 2-0, with Lin and Baek earning big wins against the Tigers. Lin defeated Princeton's Maren Uratah 6-4, 6-3, while Baek defeated Anna Nguyen 6-3, 6-2.  Farhat capped off the weekend with a dominant 6-1, 6-0 win over Hofstra's Megan Maragliano. 

The Lions return to action on Thursday, October 9, for the start of the ITA Regionals in Philadelphia, Pa.
