No. 25 Wrestling Hosts Bucknell to Wrap Up Regular Season

Sunday’s dual will be Senior Day
NEW YORK – The 25th-ranked Columbia wrestling team wraps up the regular season on Sunday when it hosts Bucknell. Sunday's dual is also Senior Day; the Lions will honor their eight seniors in a special pre-match presentation.

LAST TIME OUT
Last time out, Columbia went 2-0, defeating Harvard and Brown. The two wins proved to be historic as they clinched the program's fifth Ivy League Title, the first since 1982. The Lions won eight of 10 bouts in a 38-9 victory over Harvard. The next day, they cruised to a 28-10 win over the Bears. Sulayman Bah, Cesar Alvan, and Vincent Mueller all went 2-0.

The Lions are ranked No. 25 in the latest FloWrestling Dual poll. It is the second time in program history, and the first since 2007, that the Lions have been ranked in a top-25 poll. In the latest National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) Poll, the Lions are receiving 14 votes and are just outside the top-25.
IN THE RANKINGS
In the latest rankings from Intermat and FloWrestling, Columbia has seven athletes ranked in the top-33. Aaron Ayzerov is the top-ranked grappler; he checks in at No. 15 in the FloWrestling rankings. Cesar Alvan jumped from the mid-20s to No. 17 in the latest poll by FloWrestling. Also ranked for the Lions are Lorenzo Frezza, Kai Owen, Nick Fine, Jack Wehmeyer, and Vincent Mueller.
NCAA STAT LEADERS
The Lions have the top two pin artists in the Nation. With his win via fall in the Harvard dual, Joe Curtis notched his 11th win by fall of the season, tying him with teammate Vincent Mueller for most in the NCAA.

Before Sunday's match, the Lions will honor their eight seniors in a special pre-match presentation. Competing in their final home dual will be Cesar Alvan, Aaron Ayzerov, Richard Fedalen, Nick Fine, Kai Owen, Richard Ryu, Ike Schmidt, and Boris Witmer.
