Men's Swimming & Diving in Sixth After Day Three of Ivies

Isaac Beers wins silver medal and sets program record in 100 back
PRINCETON, N.J. -- The Columbia men's swimming and diving team sits in sixth place with 580.5 points after day three of the 2026 Ivy League Championships being held at DeNunzio Pool on the campus of Princeton University.
After 14 events, Princeton is atop the standings with 952 points. Yale is in second place with 874.5 points. Harvard in third, totaling 785.5 points. Just six points separate Columbia, Cornell and Brown in fourth-sixth.
DAY ONE
The Ivy League Championships began with the 200 medley and the 800 free relay.
The Lions' 200 medley relay squad got things started with an impressive third place finish. The team of Isaac Beers, Joshua Corn, Brian Lee, and Zion James clocked 1:25.33 to win the bronze medal.
The 800 free relay team finished, and set a new program record in the process. The squad of Gian Santos, Derek Hitchens, Kyle Won, and Adam Wu touched the wall with a Columbia record of 6:22.02.

DAY TWO
Day two was another solid day for the Lions.
James made more Columbia history, breaking the program record in the 50 free with a time of 19.27 in the prelims. He went on to finish fourth in the finals at 19.31. Samuel Eckert took seventh in the same event, finishing at 19.59.
Zach Vasser also had a podium finish, placing eighth in the 500 free with a time of 4:20.28. Stephen Zhukov won the B finals at 4:19.52.
To close out the day, the 200 free relay squad made more program history. The team of James, Wu, Beers, and Eckert finished fourth with a record time of 1:17.41.

DAY THREE
The Lions had another strong day of swims on day three.
Isaac Beers had the Lions' top performance of the weekend, winning a silver medal in the 100 back with a time of 45.89. He also set a program record earlier in the day in prelims at 45.74.
Vasser (8:54.59) and Zhukov (8:55.62) finished fourth and fifth, respectively, in the 1000 free.
Gian Santos took fourth in the 400 IM touching the wall at 3:46.64.
Wu finished on the podium in the 200 free, as did Corn in the 200 breast.
To close out the day, the 400 medley relay squad won bronze with a time of 3:07.92. The team consisted of Beers, Corn, Wu, and James.

DIVING
On the 1m boards, Joseph Nicol had Columbia's top finish with a score of 298.75.
"Been an extraordinary career for Joe including multiple A finals appearances," Head Diving Coach Scott Donie said. "This was a strong performance for him today. He really listed his game in the B final and I am incredibly proud of this young man and we are looking forward to the 3m tomorrow."
ON DECK
The final day begins tomorrow with the 200 back. Prelims are set for 11 a.m. followed by finals at 6 p.m.
Following the conclusion of Ivies, all of the Lions' qualified divers will begin preparations for the NCAA Zone Diving competition on March 9.

Isaac Beers had the Lions' top performance of the weekend, winning a silver medal in the 100 back with a time of 45.89. He also set a program record earlier in the day in prelims at 45.74.
Vasser (8:54.59) and Zhukov (8:55.62) finished fourth and fifth, respectively, in the 1000 free.
Gian Santos took fourth in the 400 IM touching the wall at 3:46.64.
Wu finished on the podium in the 200 free, as did Corn in the 200 breast.
To close out the day, the 400 medley relay squad won bronze with a time of 3:07.92. The team consisted of Beers, Corn, Wu, and James.
