Graduate student will take on the roll of director of softball operations
NEW YORK — The Columbia softball program has announced the addition of Lira Bordoley to its staff, bringing on the Columbia University graduate student as the director of softball operations and assistant coach ahead of the upcoming season.
"Lira is going to be a great addition to the program," head coach Jennifer Teague said. "She will be able to help us on the administrative side of the program. Helping with technology, travel and being an extra set of hands in practice. We are excited to have her energy a part of the program as well."
Bordoley is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Sports Management at Columbia, with an expected graduation date of December 2026. She brings a strong background in athletic operations, Olympic sport support, and event execution across the Division I collegiate landscape.
A graduate of the University of Michigan, Bordoley earned a Bachelor of Science in Applied Exercise Science with minors in Sociology and Education. During her time in Ann Arbor, she served as a strength and conditioning intern for Michigan's Olympic sports programs, working with more than 700 student-athletes across 15 sports while managing training data, facility operations, and daily scheduling. She also gained experience supporting men's and women's basketball and golf programs.
Bordoley has additional experience in NIL law and policy, having completed an internship with the Law Offices of Goodman Acker, where she researched and benchmarked NIL collectives nationwide to develop market reports and support thought leadership initiatives. Her background also includes event operations and logistics roles with Twelve24 Events and Active Plus in New York City, where she managed large-scale events, community partnerships, and game-day logistics.
A former competitive powerlifter and novice coxswain with Michigan women's rowing, Bordoley brings a student-athlete–centered perspective and a strong foundation in performance, operations, and program support to the Lions.
