
Track & Field Delivers Wins, Top Finishes Across Multi-Meet Weekend

The 4x100m relay squad set a new school record at the Mt. SAC Relays
NEW YORK — Competing across some of the nation's premier meets, Columbia Track & Field turned in a statement weekend.
Bryan Clay Invitational
The quartet of Caden Cutchall, Haydn Brotschi, Zach Willen, and Matthew Mazero captured the men's 4x400m relay title in 3:10.43.

Mt. SAC Invitational
The relay squad, consisting of Matthew Mazero, Haydn Brotschi, Zach Willen, and Max Comfere, placed second and set a school record in the 4x100m (40.42).
The 4x400m placed third in the elite division, clocking 3:09.82.
Brotschi added an eighth-place finish in the 400m, clocking 45.90.

Wake Forest Invitational
Columbia's middle-distance group delivered a strong showing in the 800m, led by Marc Dabby's runner-up finish in 1:53.86. Nicholas Hayden followed in third (1:52.35), while Justin Gottlieb placed seventh in 1:51.79. In the invitational section, Jacob Van Orden turned in one of the top performances of the weekend, placing fourth in 1:48.47.
On the women's side, Lucy Henkel secured a third-place finish in the 800m (2:05.00), while Isabella Shertzer added an eighth-place showing (2:16.30). In the 1500m, Matt Gatune led the Lions with an eighth-place finish in 3:39.82, followed by Ben Bergey (10th, 3:51.37) and Meredith Wolfe (8th, 4:31.61) on the women's side.

Mark Young Invitational
Norina Khanzada cleared 1.65m to take first. In the field, Galvin Holcombe added a runner-up finish in the men's pole vault (4.20m), while the Lions saw successes in the throws with Maya Helmen (5th, 44.57m) and Lily Cregan (6th, 44.34m) in the women's hammer, and Anthony Colucci (6th, 50.42m) on the men's side. Jada Mia Puryear (4th, 38.82m) and Catalina Holliday (5th, 37.73m) also posted top-five finishes in the discus.
On the track, Annie Killian led the way with a second-place finish in the 800m (2:19.14), while Farah Osman added a podium result in the 5000m, placing third in 18:18.69. Walker Beverly secured a third-place finish in the men's 1500m (3:54.72), followed by Lukas Malek in seventh (4:03.33).
In the sprints, Sid Kothardi placed fourth in the men's 100m (10.92), while Kaila O'Connor finished fifth in the women's race (12.29). The Lions also saw a scoring effort in the men's long jump from Benson Fleischer (6th, 6.34m) and a fifth-place finish from Catalina Holliday in the shot put (11.41m).

Virginia Challenge
Viktoria Mihaylova recorded an eighth-place finish in the triple jump (12.52m), while Daniela Quintero added a podium performance in the 1500m, placing third in 4:27.86.

UConn Northeast Challenge
Adam Jaros placed sixth overall in the decathlon with 5,764 points, highlighted by a first-place finish in the 1500m (4:44.93) to close out the competition.
