Lions Surge on Saturday at Ivy League Men’s Golf Championship

Formosa (+4) in seventh; four players inside the top 15
SPRINGFIELD, N.J. — The Columbia men's golf team was the biggest mover of the day, surging into third place after Round 2 of the 2026 Ivy League Men's Golf Championship. The three-day championship is being held at Baltusrol Golf Club.
Saturday's second round saw the field battle through cold, rainy and windy conditions at Baltusrol's 7,105-yard Lower Course. Columbia shot the second-lowest team round of the day, carding a 12-over-par 300 to climb from fifth to third on the team leaderboard. The Lions (+28) still have some work to do, trailing tournament leader Princeton (+13) by 15 shots and second-place Harvard (+14) by 14, but have given themselves a chance heading to Sunday's final round.
Individually, the Lions continue to be led by first year Alejandro Formosa. Despite the conditions, Formosa carded a second straight round of 2-over-par 74 and sits in solo seventh at 4-over for the championship. He trails 36-hole co-leaders Barry Zhang (Harvard) and Reed Greyserman (Princeton) by five shots.
Three more Lions sit inside the top 15. First year Neil Kulkarni and senior George Rubelsky each shot second-round 75s, putting Kulkarni (+7) in a tie for 11th and Rubelsky (+9) in a tie for 14th. Sandwiched right between the two is senior Darren Pang (+8), who carded his second consecutive round of 4-over 76 and is in solo 13th.
By climbing to third, the Lions will tee off in threesomes alongside first-place Princeton and second-place Harvard on Sunday. The lead groups will tee off in 10-minute increments beginning at 9:10 a.m.
