No. 17 Women’s Rowing Completes Day One of NCAA Championship

The Lions’ 1V8 and 2V8 are set for the Final 3s on Sunday
GAINESVILLE, Ga. — No. 17 Columbia women's rowing completed day one of the 2026 NCAA Championship on Friday at Lake Lanier Olympic Park, racing in both the heats and semifinals due to Saturday's forecast. Sunday will feature Columbia's First Varsity Eight and Second Varsity Eight in Final 3s.

Columbia's First Varsity Eight finished fourth in its heat Friday morning with a time of 6:09.154 to earn a spot in the Semi-Final 3. The Lions then picked up a victory in the semifinal, getting past UCF at 6:16.553. Columbia will race in the Final 3 on Sunday.
The Lions' Second Varsity Eight also placed fourth in its heat at 6:17.301 to move to the Semi-Final 4. Columbia went toe-to-toe the entire stretch of the semifinal race, but finished second behind UCF at 6:29.881.
Columbia's Varsity Four crossed at 7:19.438 to advance to Semi-Final 3 and placed fourth in its final race of the day.
