Men’s Golf Earns GCAA Academic Honors

Rubelsky, Pang earn All-America Scholar status
NEW YORK — The Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) announced its academic awards for the 2025-26 season this week. Recent graduates George Rubelsky and Darren Pang were named Cobalt Golf All-America Scholars. The Lions also picked up the PLATFORM Golf Team Academic Award.
A GCAA-record 331 schools across six divisions earned a PLATFORM Golf Team Academic Award. Columbia was one of 88 Division I schools to receive Presidents Special Recognition for having an average team GPA of 3.5 or above.
Rubelsky and Pang were two of the 649 NCAA Division I athletes from 210 schools to earn 2025-26 Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar honors. To be eligible for NCAA Division I Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar nomination, an individual must be a sophomore, junior or senior both academically and athletically, participate in 50% of their team's competitive rounds, have a stroke average under 76.0 and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2.
Columbia's 2026-27 season opens at The Doc Gimmler, Sept. 11-12, at Bethpage Red.
