The Lions were defeated three games to none by Hofstra in their season home opener (30-24, 30-22, 30-22). The win helped the Pride improve to 5-5, while C.U. still remains winless at 0-4.

Natalia Premovic had a stellar day for the Light Blue, tallying her first double-double of the season. She had a game high 16 kills while having a hitting percentage of .542. She also led the team in digs with 10. For Hofstra, Elizabeth Curley led her team in kills with 15.

The Lions are on the road this weekend, traveling to Princess Anne, Md. to participate in the Maryland-Eastern Shore Invitational. On Friday, September 17, the Lions take on Youngstown State at 3:00 p.m. and Wofford at 7:00 p.m. C.U. will then face UMES at noon and Sacred Heart at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 18 to complete the tournament.
