PALM BAY, FLA. - The Columbia lightweight crews capped a week of training in Florida with some impressive rows as part of the Governor's Cup Regatta. They faced off against both lightweight and heavyweight crews.
"We had some very good rows," head coach Marc DeRose said. "The coaches are pleased."
Columbia won the varsity eights race, defeating heavyweight boats from Florida Tech, Marietta, and the Columbia heavyweights. The Lions also were victorious in one of two freshman/novice eights races, and in a freshman/novice fours.
Columbia's first race up north will not be until Saturday, April 2, when it is host to Holy Cross at the New York Athletic Club's Orchard Beach course.
