WHAT'S ON THE LINE
The EARC Sprints features a group of highly competitive crews in both the lightweight and heavyweight divisions as teams try to earn a bid to the 2018 IRA National Championships on Mercer Lake in West Windsor, New Jersey. June 1-3.

LIGHTWEIGHTS' STATUS
The No. 1 ranked Columbia lightweight team closed out its regular season two weekends ago at home with a four-race sweep over the Delaware lightweight team and the Drexel heavyweights. The Lions are looking to set themselves up for a repeat of their 2016 National Championship run with a strong showing at Sprints this weekend.

HEAVYWEIGHTS' STATUS
The Lions come into this weekend ranked No. 17 in the country after dropping the Stevenson Cup in the varsity eight race in the team's final competition of the regular season two weekends ago. The second varsity finished strong just behind No. 15 George Washington and the third varsity eight was able to come home with a win.

A LOOK BACK...
Last year the Lions battled tough conditions on Lake Quinsigamond, with the lightweight varsity eight coming away with a fourth-place finish and the heavyweight varsity eight finishing in 12th. The lightweight second varsity was able to out-row its seed and make it to the Grand Final, with the third varsity getting a bid to the Grands as well. The heavyweight second and third varsity finished 11th and sixth, respectively.
