Joe Manion

Joe Manion was hired as Columbia’s Director of Player Personnel in January 2024 after spending the 2023 season at Kent State in a similar position. In this role, he will manage all aspects recruiting and assist with other administrative duties.
 
Manion came to Kent State from Harvard where he served as the Director of Football Operations and Recruiting. There, he oversaw a six-figure recruiting budget and a national recruiting search. He also planned, operated and coordinated all aspect of recruiting visits both official and unofficial. On an operational level, Manion coordinated the day-to-day function and activity of the football program. It was his second stint at Harvard after serving as an Assistant Director of Football Operations and Recruiting for the 2019 season.
 
Prior to his time with the Crimson, Manion spent a year as the Director of Recruiting Operations for the United States Military Academy. There he created the Army evaluation pipeline for recruiting and managed the recruiting boards for a national recruiting search.
 
Manion also has stops at Villanova, James Madison and Nebraska where he worked in football operations and recruiting in a variety of capacities.
 
He is a 2016 graduate from Saint Joseph's, where he was a four-year member of the baseball team. He earned a Master's in Business from Nebraska in 2018.
