Marquise Stancil is Columbia Athletics' Director of Leadership and Well-Being. In this role, he is the liaison for the department for counseling, psychological services and hazing prevention for Barnard and Columbia, oversees the wellness coordinators' program, advises the Student Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) and oversees all athletic student-athlete affinity groups. Additionally, Stancil championed for the implementation of the athletics interest group with Columbia counseling and psychological services.

Stancil, who co-founded and is co-advisor to Columbia's Black Student-Athlete Alliance (BSAA), currently serves as the co-chair of the department's We Roar Together Committee and the athletic diversity and inclusion designee. He is on various committees at Columbia and the Ivy League, including the Leadership & Excellence Committee and Student of Color Resource Team at Columbia and the IVy League's DEI and SAAC commitees.

In 2023, he was selected as a Rising Star by the Minority Opportunities and Athletic Association (MOAA) and is a member of the Diversity, Inclusion and Equity Council of Excellence (DIECE).
 
Stancil joined the Success Through Well-Being team after serving six years as an assistant track and field coach at Columbia. In addition to his coaching responsibilities, Stancil took an active role in the department's We Roar Together Committee. He is an original member of Columbia Athletics' Diversity, Racial Justice, Equity & Inclusion Committee and is committed to providing the community and student-athletes a diverse, inclusive, and socially equitable culture and experience.
 
Under Stancil's tutelage as the assistant track and field coach for sprints, hurdles, and relays, seven Lions won individual Ivy League titles, 10 student-athletes set school-records in their respective events, five student-athletes qualified for the NCAA Championships, and one athlete qualified for the Olympic Games in 2016. In addition, Stancil's athletes posted 89 marks that rank among the top-10 best times in school history.

Prior to arriving at Columbia in 2016, Stancil spent a year and a half as an assistant track and field coach at Saint Francis University in Loretto, Pennsylvania, (2014-16) and five years at his alma mater, Temple University (2009-14).
 
Stancil is a 2009 graduate of Temple with a Bachelor of Science degree in Secondary Education: mathematics. He also earned a Master of Education degree in urban education and leadership from Temple.
