Coach Weintraub on Nina: Nina has a great all around game. She can change direction of the ball well on her forehand side and is comfortable attacking the net in singles. When she’s playing her best tennis, Nina can compete at the highest level.

2008: Played No. 1 singles for the Lions all season ... picked up wins over Seton Hall and Barry ... also played No. 1 doubles for majority of the year.

2007: Defeated Dartmouth’s Mary Beth Winningham 2-6, 6-3, 6-2 at the two spot ... defeated Cornell’s Tamara John 5-7, 6-4, 10-8 at No. 3 singles ... went 2-1 with doubles partner Sydney Murray ... defeated Murillo and Stanimirovic of UMass and Elder-Bush and Baker of Rutgers 8-4 ... went 4-10, 2-5 Ivy League overall.

2006: Went 5-10 overall in singles and 6-11 in doubles ... went 4-6 in doubles with teammate Marlena Hall.

2005:  Had a successful fall in singles, but had an outstanding doubles showing ... teamed with Marlena Hall to reach the quarterfinals of the ITA Regional in doubles ... reached the Flight “A” doubles quarterfinals in the Cornell Invitational ...  won her first collegiate dual match vs. Seton Hall at No. 1 doubles and #6 singles.

At Newark Academy: Earned two letters in tennis ... 2001 National Open doubles champion ... No. 1 doubles team in New Jersey in 2002 ... took second place at the ETA sectional in 2005 ... won a junior tournament in Barcelona, Spain in 2003 ... ranked top 10 in G’16’s, #11 in G’18 in Eastern Section ... ranked top 200 in  National G 16’s/G18’s.

Personal: Parents are Anjuli and Abhay ... sister, Nisha, played tennis at Cornell ... birthdate 6/16/87 ... neuroscience and behavior major planning to go to medical school ... hobbies include genetic research, reading Russian literature and watching the NBA.
