Chase Licata was named Columbia University's Senior Associate Athletics Director/Chief Financial Officer in June 2024. Licata previously served as Director of Athletics & Recreation at the College of Staten Island since 2022.

Licata’s duties at Columbia will focus on strategic planning, budget development, implementation and monitoring of personnel decisions, implementing and overseeing departmental budgetary policies and procedures, preparing budgets, reviewing revenues, disbursements, maintaining a variety of specialized and recurring accounting reports, coordinating financial and budget special projects, coordinating the extraction of data for financial reports studies, surveys and projects and advising the athletic department on short and long-term budget strategies.

Licata guided CSI Athletics during its transition to NCAA Division II. He increased revenues through strategic initiatives and oversaw enhancements at several of the Dolphins’ facilities.

Prior to CSI, Licata spent eight years at St. Francis Brooklyn and served as Assistant Athletics Director of Business Operations/Administrations before being promoted to Deputy Athletics Director in 2018. While there, he was responsible for overseeing the daily operations of all 21 sports and oversaw athletic administration, managing inter-department personnel and long-term projects for the department. 

In addition to his experience in collegiate athletics, Licata worked on the New York Mercantile Exchange at MBF Clearing Corp for eight years. While at MBF, he served as an assistant men's basketball coach at the College of Mount Saint Vincent and New York University.  He has coached at the high school level, including at his alma mater, Packer and Leman Preparatory in Manhattan.

During his career as a student-athlete, he played four years at Muhlenberg College in Allentown, Pennsylvania, where he was a captain on the men's basketball team for two seasons. He graduated from Muhlenberg with a B.S. in Political Science and obtained a Masters in Sports Leadership from Northeastern University.
