Evan Olson joins Columbia University Athletics in 2025, bringing an impressive background as an athlete and coach in the rowing community.
Prior to joining Columbia, Olson was a key member of the United States Men's 8+, earning a bronze medal at the Paris 2024 Olympics.
Olson also has extensive coaching experience, having spent two years at Pocock Rowing Center, where he helped develop rowers and foster a culture of excellence. His expertise and passion for the sport are sure to have a lasting impact on the Columbia Athletics community.
A graduate of the University of Washington, Olson holds a degree in Communication with minors in Political Science and International Studies. During his time at Washington, he won four consecutive IRA National Championships, solidifying his reputation as an elite rower.
Additionally, Evan rowed at Oxford Brookes University, where he won the Ladies Plate at Henley Royal Regatta. Outside of his professional commitments, he enjoys boxing, jiu-jitsu, rock climbing, and mountaineering, embracing the challenge and discipline that these activities offer.
