The Lions men's tennis team returns to the road this weekend with a pair of dual matches starting with a match at Virginia on Friday. On Sunday, the Lions will take on North Carolina in Chapel Hill. The last time these two teams squared off was on May 12, 2018, when the Lions defeated Virginia 4-2 in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. Against the Tar Heels, Columbia is 2-0 all-time. Last time out, Columbia beat North Carolina 6-1 on January 21, 2024.

Columbia enters this weekend 6-3 in dual meets and has won four in a row after going 2-0 last weekend. The Lions opened the weekend by blasting Princeton on the road before storming back to upset No. 22 Penn. Senior Cesar Alvan was named the Ivy League Wrestler of the Week after going 2-0 with a pair of ranked wins. His win over #19 Sean Seefeldt started the Lions' run of 20 unanswered points in the win over the Quakers. Columbia's duel against Cornell is slated to begin at 1 p.m. The Lions will also take on Arizona State at 5 p.m.
