Jason Price is in his first season at Columbia serving as the team's goalkeeping coach.
Price comes to Columbia with a variety of international and domestic experience. Having received his master's degree in anthropology from NYU in 2007, Price has served as a roving goalkeeping trainer for the past four years in the tri-state area.
He has also been a youth soccer coach in the nearby Harlem area with Nah We Yone. In 2005, Price established an outreach program with Nah We Yone, using soccer to provide social services to African youth.
From 1999-2002, Price spent three years in Africa, serving in the Peace Corps in Lilongwe, Malawi, where he taught English grammar and literature, history, math and HIV and AIDS education to Malawian youngsters. At the same time, Price trained the Malawi national team's goalkeepers in preparation for the 2002 World Cup qualifiers and had two head coaching stints with local soccer clubs, including leading Chikangawa Secondary School to two undefeated seasons.
A 1999 graduate of Middlebury, Price was a four-year letterwinner for the traditional Division III powerhouse. He graduated magna cum laude with a B.A. in sociology/anthropology.
