The
Quinnipiac held a steady shot and corner advantage well into the second half, but
Quinnipiac's goalkeeper Jenna Grossman, made five saves late in the second half to ward off
Quinnipiac controlled the opening touch and attempted to advance the ball, but Megan Davidson made a key tackle and advanced the ball to a charging Buszczak. Buszczak controlled the ball on a break-away and found Branich just right of center outside the 16. Branich charged in and hesitated just as the goalie came out of the cage to slide and shot into the open goal.
It was Branich's second goal of the season and her first golden goal.
The Lions improved to 5-8, while Quinnipiac dropped to 6-8.
