The Lions came out strong to win game one, and rallied to defeat a hot-hitting Harvard in game four to stay alive, before falling in five, 30-25, 15-30, 25-30, 30-28, 13-15.
The Lions won game one with Amalia Viti, Nikki Learned and Natalie Gerling finishing with four kills each. The Lions hit .207 to Harvard's .167 and the Lions finished with 30 digs to Harvard's 20.
The Crimson were not to be denied in game two, hitting .410 for the game with 18 kills and just two errors. Suzie Trimble led Harvard with five kills in game two.
Game three was tight throughout, but Harvard pushed the last five points on Trimble's serve to take the game.
The Lions trailed 17-13 in game four, but rallied back in strong fashion behind the defense of Gerling and Ashley Kim and the blocks of Learned and Danielle Alexander.
The Lions held off a late push by the Crimson to take game four 30-28.
Game five was a reflection of the match, see-sawing until Harvard pulled out the last two points.
Viti led the Lions with 15 kills, while Gerling totaled 14 kills, 23 digs and two assists.
Alexander also had a strong day with 10 kills without an error.
Trimble led Harvard with 24 kills and 18 digs.
The Lions fell to 5-11, 0-7 Ivy League and Harvard improved to 9-9, 3-4 Ivy League.
