The Lions pieced together three strong-hitting games to defeat Manhattan 3-0 in non-conference action.
Columbia improved to 7-13, while Manhattan fell to 10-16.
The Lions squeaked out a hotly-contested game one, 31-29, before easing to a 30-17 victory in game two. The Lions hit just three errors in game two, and six in game three, en route to a 30-27 game-three win.
The Lions served a strong game with 11 aces distributed amongst six players, three by Cassie Ligh. Defense was key for Columbia, as they out-dug Manhattan 56-42, and added nine blocks to earn key points.
Amalia Viti hit .355 in the win, with 16 kills, five errors, four digs and four block assists. Ligh had eight kills with one error to compliment 14 digs, and Alex Marchyshyn had 31 assist in the victory.
Sherryta Stokes led the Jaspers with 16 kills, while Ashley Watson had 19 digs for Manhattan.
