The action commences at 12 noon with a team presentation and demonstration. Then the targets will be moved closer and those friends and family attending will get the opportunity to shoot, and receive instruction if they wish.
Columbia opened its season November 11 at FITA East in Reading, Pa., and then competed in the December Mail-In Shoot. The latter originally was scheduled as the home opener, but had to be moved due to facility unavailability.
What head coach Derek Davis describes as “our most experienced and balanced team” was quite successful in the two competitions, which produced three gold, a silver, and two bronze medals for Lion archers.
“We're still shaking off the dust from the summer,” Davis noted. “We're going to get better as the season progresses.”
Davis recently withdrew the Lions from the Eastern Seaboard FITA on January 13, 2007, because the majority of his team will not have returned from winter break. The Lions will make their 2007 debut Saturday, January 27 in the January Mail-In Shoot in LeFrak Gymnasium.
