Women's Tennis Falls to No. 75 Rice, 5-2

After early morning showers briefly delayed the start of the match, the teams opened with singles play. Freshman Emily Braid defeated Anna Varnay at number six,
6-0, 6-3. Rice senior Blair DiSesa, ranked 54th nationally, added to the Owls' lead with her 6-2, 6-3 win against Milena Kachar at the top of #1 singles.
The Lions got on the scoreboard with a win at two singles, when Angela Hendry defeated Christine Dao, 6-2, 6-3. Nina Suda dropped a tough match to Tiffany Lee,
6-2, 6-3 at number four to put the Owls up 3-1 with two matches still to go. Playing at number five, senior Medeja Egic clinched the team victory for Rice, beating
Molly Condit 4-6, 6-4, 6-1. Sydney Murray defeated Alanna Rodgers 7-5, 4-6, 1-0 (3) for the Lions second singles victory of the match.
The Owls then swept through doubles to snag the final point of the day.
