
Men's Swimming Drops Dual Meet to Princeton, 174-117

NEW YORK - The Columbia men's swimming & diving team dropped a dual meet on the road to an undefeated Princeton squad, 174-117, in Princeton, N.J.
Several members of the Lion squad had strong swims for Columbia in the meet. In the first event, the 200 medley relay, the Lions came out with a second place finish, as Johnny Bailey, Eric Tang, Bruno Esquen and Darren Pagan hit the wall in 1:33.65.
First-year Sean MacKenzie performed well for Columbia, as he took second in the 1000 free with a time of 9:32.51, just ahead of sophomore Alex Smith, who finished third in 9:44.53. MacKenzie also had a strong showing in the 500 free, where he took second place in a time of 4:42.24.
Senior Tang finished second in the 100 breaststroke, with a time of 57.00, while sophomore Bruno Esquen took second in the 200 fly, in 1:54.72. Sophomore Robert Eyckmans also did well in the 200 fly, as he took third in 1:55.18. Tang also had one of the Lions' lone first-place finishes, as he won the 200 breast, with a time of 2:05.54.
Up next for the Lions, they return home to Uris Pool for the last dual meet of the season against Dartmouth, a 3 p.m. meet that will take place Saturday, February 13.
